Cherryaid is a voluntary group proving support to patients of Cherrybrook surgery and their carers.
Our volunteers freely give their time to provide transport for appointments at the surgery, local hospitals and clinics. We can also provide transport for those needing to visit relatives in hospital or nursing homes.
There is no set charge but a donation towards our petrol and other costs is greatly appreciated.
Our volunteers can help with occasional shopping trips or collecting shopping or prescriptions for the housebound.
We offer asssistance with completion of Disability Living Allowance and Attendance Allowance claim forms.
We hold regular coffee mornings in the surgery with bric-a-brac, cake stall, raffle and occasional flower arranging demos; a great way to meet new people and support our fundraising efforts. Contact us if you would like to be added to the mailing list to receive details of these. We welcome donations of saleable items (not clothes) and raffle prizes for these events
We sell books, DVDs and CDs in the waiting room. Minimum donation of 50p per item. We are always in need of books to sell.
Thanks to the generosity of our supporters we are able to provide practical help to patients and also to make donations of equipment to The Practice. In recent years we have provided: Childrens play table, Spirometer, Doppler Probe ,refurbishment of treatment room, chairs for waiting room.
